A Weekend in Bangkok

Two full days in Bangkok it's pretty much what it takes to start out around town without having to jog from one place to another.

The ideal is to visit the city a weekend or at least riding on a weekend for a chance to visit the Chatuchak Weekend market, but if you are there during the week you will quickly see that there has greatly things to see in this captivating city.

Day 1: (two days can be exchanged if the stay is riding on a weekend to go to Chatuchak market on a Saturday or Sunday)

Morning

 

8 am to 8.30 am

Breakfast at your Hotel

9 am to 10.30 am

Thonburi Canals (Klongs)
A trip along Bangkok’s canal is one great way to see a number of the major sites from an interesting perspective.

10.30 am to 13.00

Wat phra Kaew
Great place to visit, the Royal Palace and the Emerald Temple

Wat Po and Recyclin Buddha

Just behind the Grand Palace you can find the Wat Po temple

Afternoon

 

1.30 pm to 2.30 pm

Lunch time
in one restaurant in Rattanakosin close to Wat Phra Keow like Chote Chitr, May Kaidee, O`s Ros... or in Food court near shopping Centers in MBK or Siam Paragon

2.30 pm to 4.30 pm

Visit the MBK or the Siam Paragon Shopping center
There are many shopping centers in Bangkok but these two are the most famous.

5 pm to 7 pm

Free time at your hotel, a fruit cocktail near Swimming Pool...
 

Evening

 

7.30 pm to 9.30 pm

Take an Appetizer and have a Dinner in one of the wonderful Rooftop Restaurant

9.30 pm to 11.30 pm

Cabaret Show
Cabarets are an important part of Thai culture and you should see at least a Ladyboy show during your stay.

00.00 to 2 am

Disco & Clubs
If you're not too tired you can always end the evening in one of the many clubs in the city
(or go back Hotel).

 

Day 2:

Morning

 

9 am to 9.30 am

Breakfast at your Hotel

10 am to 2 pm

Chatuchak Weekend Market
Once only popular among wholesalers and traders, Chatuchak Weekend Market has reached a landmark status as a must-visit place for tourists.

For lunch time you can find here a lot of place for eat (street food or resataurants.)

 

If your stay not on week end you can choose to go visit Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
This is a nice place to visit but the market is outside Bangkok, start early morning and stop before lunch time so it's necessary to book a taxi or a bus for go there around 7 am.

Afternoon

 

1.30 pm to 2.30 pm

Massage in Spa
you can find some Spa here but have a lot more in Bangkok and probably on in your hotel

2.30 pm to 4.30 pm

Visit the MBK or the Siam Paragon Shopping center
There are many shopping centers in Bangkok but these two are the most famous.

5 pm to 6.30 pm

Free time at your hotel, a fruit cocktail near Swimming Pool...
 

Evening

 

7 pm to 8 pm

Visit the famous Patpong Shopping
This night market mix of Thai handicrafts and copies of major brands in an area bordered by bars.

8 pm to 9 pm

Take an Appetizer at Deck Restaurant with the romantic view on Wat Arun Temple

9 pm to 11 pm

Have a Dinner in one of restaurant in our Restaurant Advice page

11 pm to 1 am Take a drink in one Lounge bar

If you want optimize your time, ask to hotel to write in Thai the name of the place you want go, a lot of taxi cannot understand a word of English.
