The Deck

Thai - $$$

Situated in Arun Residence on the Chao Phraya across from Wat Arun, the Deck offers vivid views of one of Bangkok’s most beautiful temples.

Dining with a view of the city is pleasant but dining with the gorgeous Temple of Dawn as your backdrop takes things to a whole new level.

Head to riverside restaurant The Deck at sunset, at Arun Residence, and toast the occasion with an aperitif.

The restaurant’s Thai and international cuisine has made it a popular spot for tourists exploring historic Rattanakosin Island. Dinner wise, go for their Italian fare before making your way up to the Amorosa bar for a breezy end to the night.

A diverse range of Thai and European dishes gives the restaurant its wide appeal. Of the former, king river prawns deep-fried in garlic or served in a zesty pla kung salad is a definite highlight. On the international side, sauteed New Zealand mussels with spicy sauce is recommended as is ravioli trio. The latter is generously stuffed with goose liver, truffle and ricotta with tiger prawn, and this rather large dish is great for sharing. Fish lovers should try grilled red snapper with lemon and dill sauce accompanied by sweet grilled vegetables. Sweet endings are plentiful; millefeuille with strawberries and mascarpone mousse and tiramisu make pleasantly light dessert options.
